Journafy: a Private and Secure Digital Diary

Journafy ensures the privacy and security of all user data through robust protection measures and strict confidentiality standards. Learn how we protect patient data.

Privacy by Design

It’s our job to protect patients’ data.

Journafy was designed and developed with privacy and security in mind. Privacy and Security are an integral part of the digital diary, and without them, Journafy could not exist.

What does ‘privacy by design’ mean?

  • The patient is the owner of the diary. Not our company, nor the hospital that provides Journafy. If the patient is (temporarily) unable to manage their diary, ownership goes to their legal guardian.
  • The patient (or legal guardian) has full control over who can read or write in their diary
  • The patient (or legal guardian) can delete their digital diary and all its associated data at all times.
  • We only ask for personal data that we need in order to provide our service. And we never share your data without permission.

Reliable security

Apart from keeping your data private, we also have a responsibility to keep them secure.

Our secure environment that leaves no room for cybercriminals.

We enforce security by:

  • Continuously monitoring Journafy’s digital environment.
  • Recognizing multiple failed login attempts early, and blocking them swiftly.
  • Working together with our partner hospitals, who apply strict requirements. No patient can be added until the safety officer, privacy officer, legal counsel and procurement have all signed the necessary documentation.
